Calling all newborn coffee lovers! Venture further than your go-to 3 in 1 coffee pack and get to know our special overtime at the office companion!
Coffee isn’t rocket science, after all. They’ve got so many fancy names that make things a little complicated but have no fear - it’s easier to understand than you think. Coffee isn’t just caffeine and latte art… It’s better to know what exactly you’re ordering than to get that Instagram worthy shot of the artsy foam! So don’t think that all coffee tastes the same, my friend, here’s a quick guide to bring along to your next cafe visit!
- The Espresso & Double Espresso
It’s a basic combination of brewed coffee beans and milk… You’d think, “meh, basic”, well think again. An Espresso shot can taste rather strong so it might not be so wise for beginners unless they’re up for the challenge! Some can handle DOUBLE the Espresso, so why can’t you?
- Espresso Macchiato
Let the strong coffee simmer down a notch and add in foamy milk. If a plain Espresso comes on to you too strong, have a cup of Espresso Macchiato instead.
Some say once you go black, you never go back. The Americano is made of brewed coffee beans with just water for the ultimate coffee experience. This can be quite challenging for all you babies out there who can't handle coffee without milk.
The latte is one of the milkier kinds of coffee as a combination of espresso and steamed milk. Ever thought of how baristas make latte art? A thin layer of milk foam sits right on top of the steamed milk, and with skills of an artist, you have an Insta-worthy cup of coffee.
Not to be confused with latte, although quite similar, the Cappucino is foamier.
Let’s add in some cocoa, because who doesn’t love chocolate? Ditch the basic hot chocolate with a little push of coffee.
- Espresso Con Panna
Here’s something you don’t see often in your basic cafe menu. The Espresso Con Panna is a single or double shot of espresso topped with whip cream. In Italian, it literally means “espresso with cream”.
- Caramel Macchiato
A Caramel Macchiato is just one cup away to a sugar rush! It’s a mix of vanilla with espresso and foamy milk.
Now that you’ve got all the basics down, you won't have to stare blankly at the menu anymore! However, if you do feel adventurous, one tip is to ask for the barista’s suggestion. They’re full of passion and a deep understanding for your best experience with oh-so-loving coffee.
