Anticipated Movies in 2018

Cinema is one of the best things that has ever happened to mankind. Since the uprising reign of media, movies have become more important to us than you think. It has enticed us with its visual beauty, a humanistic understanding of people, and the great appreciation of life as we know it.

Over the years, movies have never ceased to disappoint us as they get better and better every year with state-of-the-art CGI and life-like cinematography which goes hand in hand with heartfelt stories that either break us or make us. With that being said, by no surprise at all cinema has yet to astonish us again as we step into the new year 2018.

Movies that are making it to the big screen this year have gone viral across social media with some anticipated sequels and new movies that spark our curiosity and excitement. Notable ones that you may have already heard of are probably from the Marvel series; Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity Wars. But here are some more interesting films to mark your calendars this year:

Red Sparrow

This exciting and mysterious film delves us deep into a new light of secret intelligence with the introduction of Red Sparrow, directed by Francis Lawrence. Jennifer Lawrence plays a Prima ballerina whose life changes after she turns to Sparrow School, in which she is forced to undergo sadistic forms of training. What makes this film so exciting is its take on using sexuality as a weapon, which isn’t your everyday kind of movie.

 

The New Mutants

Marvel shines new light on superhero movies with a haunting spin. The New Mutants is an American horror film directed by Josh Boone, marking the 13th installment in the X-Men series. Anya Taylor-Joy, a familiar face from the psychological drama Split and horror film The Witch, alongside Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton, as they try to come to grips with their superpowers while staying at a secret facility.

 

Isle of Dogs

Isle of Dogs is an upcoming American stop-motion animated adventure film written and directed by Wes Anderson, typically known for his acute ensembles in notable films like The Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom. The story is set in Japan, played family movie-like with a 12-year-old as the main character with a bunch of talking dogs, all in the while setting an important political issue.

 

7 Days in Entebbe

While movies and stories tend to be make-believe, it’s always bewildering to find out that some stories actually happened in real life. 7 Days in Entebbe directed by Jose Padilha is a crime thriller film that tells the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, and the most daring rescue mission ever attempted.
